Benita Willis is arguably Australia’s greatest ever female distance runner. Benita holds the female national record for the marathon, 10,000m, 5,000m, 3,000m and 2,000m and has represented Australia at the Olympic Games on four occasions and Commonwealth Games twice. Benita will be our running coach for the week and will be available to help with any questions, advice and maybe even a few photos!

The unique multi-lap course – starting and finishing in the heart of Noosa means you’re never far from fellow runners, supporters and the on-course live music and entertainment.

Choose from five different race distances from the half lap 5km fun run right through to the full four lap Marathon. The full marathon also has a team relay option – in teams of two or four – for those looking to share in the fun with their mates.

Day 1 – Tuesday 21 May 2019

Fly into the Brisbane for an afternoon arrival. You will be greeted at the airport by our guide who will travel with you to the hotel. You will have a little time to check-in and unpack before a refreshing drink and delicious Aussie meal during out welcome function at …. 

Day 2 – WEDNESDAY 22 May 2019

At 6am we’ll meet four time Olympian and former World Champion long distance runner Benita Willis for our first run of the week. This will be a gentle run to stretch the legs as we explore the lovely coastal town of Noosa. After breakfast at one of the longest running venues in Noosa, Café le Monde, we’ll join Benita again for our first technical session. Improve your technique and endurance under the professional direction of Benita as she puts you through some drills and skills. We’ll head back to the hotel for a shower and/or swim before our first restorative yoga class with XXX.  … yoga …

After a nice lunch at the Noosa Surf Life Saving Club you can enjoy some well-earned recovery time. Some of the sports massages will be scheduled during this time. Later in the afternoon we’ll meet XXX , for a session on joint mobility. XXX will take us through a routine that will increase the synovial fluid between your joints and restore and re-hydrate your dehydrated cartilage and ligaments; the moves will help to strengthen and improve your joint health and range of motion, which should really help come race day. For dinner we’ll ….

Day 3 – THURSDAY 23 May 2019

We’ll meet Benita at 6am for a nice jog around the Noosa National Park and some great photo opportunities. After a quick swim to cool off at the beautiful Noosa Main Beach and another lovely breakfast at Café le Monde we’ll join Benita for the second technical run session. This session will focus on … … We’ll head back to the hotel for a shower and/or swim before our second restorative yoga class with XXX.  … After a nice lunch at … you can enjoy a nap or a swim of just sit by the pool. Some of the sports massages will be scheduled during this time. Later in the afternoon we’ll meet XXX for an information session on sports nutrition … Dinner will be … 

Day 4 – Friday 24 May 2019

Today is an opportunity to rest the legs and explore one of Australia’s most amazing natural wonders. Fraser Island was World Heritage listed in 1992 in recognition of its exceptional natural beauty. It provides a globally significant example of geological processes and biological evolution. The whole of the island is part of Great Sandy National Park and the only place in the world where tall rainforests grow on sand dunes.

Our day tour to Fraser Island includes the best areas of this environmentally sensitive region and discover its precious eco-systems, abundant wildlife and natural beauty. We’ll be back in Noosa around 5pm to check out the event site, collect registration packs and explore the event expo, often a good place for some bargains on the latest running gear. Benita will join us for dinner to talk through the race then we’ll ensure you’re in bed in good time for the big day tomorrow.

Day 5 – Saturday 25 May 2019

Race day! Today is the opportunity to put all of your new skills and fitness to the test. An early start today to ensure we arrive in plenty of time for the race briefing, warm up and stretch. We’ll be will be on hand all morning and throughout the race to support and assist as required. Make the most of the experience – soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the excitement. We’ll see everyone come over the finish line and be there to take plenty of photos.

After the presentation ceremony, and few photos to remember the achievement, we’ll have a late breakfast / brunch at … . After brunch we’ll head to Australia Zoo. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, had a vision to make Australia Zoo the biggest and best wildlife conservation facility in the entire world, and it’s safe to say there is no other zoo like this anywhere in the world. Dinner is a special celebration of everything we have learnt and achieved this week …

Day 6 – Sunday 26 May 2019

We’ll take an early run for those who would like one last little jog around the beautiful Noosa National Park, before a relaxing breakfast …, then time to pack and check out. The bus will depart at 9am for the Brisbane International Airport where we say goodbye and hopefully see you next year!
