Day 1 – Thursday 2 July 2020
We meet Adsy first thing this morning for a run through the beautiful Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area. Be surrounded and astounded by Australia and its stunning wilderness as we wind through the trails and stop for photos with kangaroos, and if we’re lucky, maybe even a koala. This is one of the most iconic runs you can experience on the Gold Coast.
After a short break for breakfast we’ll head to the Gold Coast Sports Super Centre. The Sports Super Centre was built as a training base for athletes competing in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was recently used as an official training ground for athletes competing at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. We’ll make use of these world class facilities as Adsy takes us through a session on the track followed by a professional recovery experience in the Centre’s warm pools and ice baths.
Enjoy a catered lunch at the Sports Super Centre before meeting former hurdler and advanced care paramedic Ellice De Giovanni who will lead us through a guided session on joint mobility. Ellice’s routine will increase the synovial fluid between your joints and restore and re-hydrate your dehydrated bones, cartilage and ligaments. The moves will help to strengthen and improve your joint health and range of motion, which should really help come race day.
Day 2 – Friday 3 July 2020
Time to get running again, this time along the Gold Coast Spit. We’ll finish at the Lighthouse for some breathtaking views of the city looking back across the water, so don’t forget your camera!
We’ll have a stretch on the sand then continue with the beach theme with the option of an authentic Aussie breakfast at the nearby Southport Surf Life Saving Club. Learn a little about this iconic Australian sport and meet some of the friendly locals over a hearty breakfast at the Surf Club.
After breakfast we’ll accompanying Adsy to the Asics Sport and Leisure Expo. The Asics Sport and Leisure Expo is Australia’s largest running expo with more than 50 exhibitors including a huge display of ASICS footwear and fashion, the latest in fitness technology, nutrition and events, plus all sorts of special deals and discounts.
Take some time to rest and recover because later in the afternoon we’ll meet Adsy on the beach for a light session of fun and fitness; your legs might be sore but your tummy will be worse with all the laughter.
Day 3 – Saturday 4 July 2020
This morning we’ll join others taking part in the Gold Coast Marathon for a morning run along Surfers Paradise. Enjoy the lovely morning sun during this gentle run followed by a nice stretch on the beach.
If you want to stay on the Coast today, take your time to explore Surfers Paradise and maybe have a leisurely breakfast in a café by the beach. But if you’re keen for adventure, we’ll leave the city behind and spend the afternoon exploring the greener side of the Gold Coast on an 4-wheel-drive hinterland tour.
Discover waterfalls cascading into mountain streams, thick green rainforests alive with native birds and the rugged off-road hillside trails on Tamborine Mountain. Our private tour will take us on an off-road track through eucalyptus forest with plenty of stops to take in the sweeping views and leisurely walks through the forests. Scones fresh from the oven for morning tea and a home cooked bbq lunch will satisfy the heartiest appetite as we enjoy the surrounds of our own private farm retreat.
Back on the Coast, and after a day of adventure and exploration, we’ll meet for a wonderful relaxation class. Release, relax, breathe and unwind before the run tomorrow during this guided stretch and meditation.
Day 4 – Sunday 5 July 2020
It’s time to run for the good times and join thousands of runners on Australia’s flattest, fastest and most scenic course.
We’ll meet early to ensure everyone is onsite in plenty of time for their race start and be on hand throughout the race to support and assist as required. Make the most of the experience. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the excitement. We’ll see everyone come over the finish line and be there to take plenty of photos.
In the evening we’ll enjoy a special group dinner to celebrate the achievements of the week.
